Rotary breakfast brought these new friends together

2005-12-04 - Columbia, KY - Photo Linda Waggener. BONNIE PHELPS HELPED THIS LITTLE KITTEN find a home Saturday morning, and kept it snug and warm in the meantime. She found the kitten in the alley as she was going into the annual Christmas in Columbia Rotary Breakfast at the Baptist Church. Nancy Willis, who was with Bonnie, said she couldn't take in any more cats but she did help spread the news of a kitten who needed a home. Kim Woodcock, the lady barber at the Town Barber Shop, volunteered and was on her way to get the kitten as Bonnie told the story. Fellow Rotarian Phil Hannah teased that she was the Rotary Club's social worker. Bonnie, who teaches at WKU's Glasgow campus, denied it and said she just wanted to help the kitten she called "Santa" find a good home.
