Columbia Square Flower Project volunteers



2005-05-12 - Columbia, KY - Photo H. Hunter Durham, Esq.. A few of the early volunteers who showed up for the Renaissance Columbia Flower Bed Project, Thursday, May 12, were, from left, Architect Benton Fudge, Ed Waggener, former Mayor (now Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for 41 Kentucky Counties) Curtis Hardwick, Project Director Stacey Bailey, and Barger Insurance President Susan Loy. More volunteers came out, including County Attorney Jennifer Hutchison-Corbin, All of the flower beds were replanted with petunias and lantanas. They were given a good cover of mulch and then watered. Two areas remain to be replanted: The vine covered bed at the Burkesville Street corner, and the big circular flower bed on the North Lawn of the Courthouse.
