Columbia's Literary Heritage 1997-10-31 - Photo Staff. Ginger Wyckoff Chapman had this copy of one of her father's Christian books. Rev. Wyckoff, pastor of Columbia Presbyterian Church in the late 1940s until his death in 1952, wrote Mercer Boys series under the name Capwell Wyckoff. The Christian novels were written under the name Albert C. Wyckoff. At least four of the Christian novels were written while Rev. Wyckoff was pastor of the Columbia Presbyterian Church, now the Columbia-Union Presbyterian Church. The paperback Christian novels were often presented as awards in Sunday School Classes. The one shown above was printed by Zondervan Publishing Company. Rev. Wyckoff and his wife are buried in Columbia Cemetery.This item first appeared in Issue 17 of the print edition of Columbia!
