On one of my regular walking routes, I frequently happen upon the edge of a pond to hear a croak and a splash as a frog launches himself into the water. On a recent outing, I approached slowly and quietly enough that I could spot him sitting in the shallows.

The sandwich special at Esto Country Store included the chuckwagon steak, deluxe, with a side of potato salad. If you're thinking of a lunchtime road trip, don't plan to go next week, though, as they will be closed for vacation.
