Tiger lilies in front of the Woodworking Shop

2022-07-12 - Cane Valley, Adair Co., KY - Photo By Robert Ellis, Robert Ellis Woodworking.
Robert writes, "Every year when these lilies make their appearance, they grow in numbers. This year- 5 plants. For many years it was a lone plant...and each year I attempt with my camera to capture their beauty. This was my third attempt to photograph them this year and on this particular morning, the sun was striking just the flower and part of the stem."

Faces on the Square

2022-07-12 - Columbia, KY - Photo by John Campbell.
John writes, "Here are some other items of interest that possibly many do not know were on the Public Square in Columbia. They are faces carved in stone by the architects of the Columbia Courthouse back in 1887. They are located atop of the 2 stone pillars on the Jamestown Street side entrance. Whether they are likenesses of the McDonald Brothers (designers) or of Mr. Hudson and Mr. Columbus (stone masons) is yet to be determined. Perhaps Michael Watson will know."
