By Billy Joe Fudge On a clear night, away from city lights, the Big Dipper is one of the most identifiable groupings of stars. It consists of three stars in the handle and four that make up the bowl. For those who are direction challenged, especially at night, the two stars at the end of the bowl always point away from the bottom of the bowl toward Polaris, the North Star. The North Star is readily identifiable since it is the last star in the handle of the Little Dipper. A quick visit from these mushrooms 2022-07-25 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. These mushrooms popped up in the flower pot last week, looking sunny and strong, sort of like little umbrellas in cocktails. Within a couple of days of this photo, they turned to tan in color, then to brown, shrinking in size, heading back into the dirt from which they'd grown.
