National Crappie Tournament coming in June
 2025-03-23 - Columbia, KY - Photo from Adair County Tourism. Adair County Tourism Director Paige Nickel, at right, shares, "Tim Ponder, center, with The National Crappie Fishing League, drove 7 hours to come visit us and drop off flyers for the fishing tournament we are hosting June 6th and 7th! The tournament will bring in many national fishermen as well as offering time for locals to fish and a kid's Rodeo! More information to come!" Tourism assistant Breann Franklin is at left.

SAF State Championships at Halcombs Landing
 2025-03-23 - Russell Co., KY - Photo by Evan Waggener. The Student Angler Federation's State Bass Fishing Championship was held on Satuday, March 22, 2025, at Lake Cumberland. Nearly 200 boats left from Halcombs Landing in Russell Springs, KY at sunup on Saturday.
Tournament winners Caleb Watkins and Jacob Neace with the Breathitt County Bobcats brought in 5 fish, weighing 13 pounds 11 ounces, including the Daily Big Bass at just over 5 pounds.
Tate Reynolds and Blane Smith with the Russell County Lakers posted a top-10 finish with 3 bass weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces.

Metcalfe HOSA Club members host Teddy Bear Clinic
 2025-03-22 - Edmonton, KY - Photo by Torrie Osbon, Director of Communications, Metcalfe County Schools. Metcalfe County School Superintendent Josh Hurt scrubbed in to offer assistance with the HOSA Club of Future Health Professionals when they hosted the MCES preschool students at the Teddy Bear Clinic. The younger students dressed in scrubs, gloves, and masks to help with the health assessments, which included measurements, blood pressure checks, X-rays, ultrasounds, hearing and vision screenings, vital signs tests, hygiene activities, and medicine checks.

New lights come on in New Columbia
 2025-03-22 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Vicky Pike of Miss Vicky's Pampered Angus Ranch. Needed for night driving safety for a long time, the new lighting is in place on Hwy 61 in the Walmart Center area of New Columbia. Miss Vicky writes of her neighborhood addition, "And we have light, but not all. There's a minor problem on light five on the right side heading south.
As it got darker the lights really showed out. Thanks to Mayor Pam for seeing this much needed project happened for our community."
