Strawberries at Farmers Market

There's no taste like ripe, locally grown strawberries. These were for sale early last Saturday morning at FM2 on the corner of Merchant and Campbellsville Streets in Columbia.

Cases appeared just in time

Wall calendars filled with beautiful photos are used as teaching materials for kids in Ugandan mission schools. Calendars become work sheets for primary aged kids learning how to form numbers. Columbia United Methodist Church members George and Vonnie Kolbenschlag collected calendars for their friend Dr. Ron Kaluya, center, who visited recently. Figuring out the best way to get two large cases filled with calendars to Uganda for his students led them to say, "Miracles do happen."

Cable is leaving, streaming is in

Lisa Back, represented of Duo Broadband cable services in Columbia, held a workshop at the Training and Development Center to talk television options. Duo will stop offering cable in the months ahead to be replaced by streaming services. Several in attendance hoped to come away with an understanding of what that will look like.
