Star Gazing

2023-09-04 - Fairplay, KY - Photo by Veronica Arnold.
Veronica writes, "After sunset we had the telescope out looking to see what we could see. Then, out of nowhere the child screams in joy and points to something streaking across the northern sky over our barn. She cries out for everyone to come look with their naked-eye before they miss it.

Yes it was something streaking across the northern sky going east. My spouse supposes it to be low-orbiting satellites, a group of possibly a dozen. I snapped a picture with my phone, but it was a magical sighting for a child! A picture shows that it did happen but it won't hold the same magic.

Get out there and keep looking up!"
