Winners of Summerfest Idol contest

Congratulations to these young ladies for their outstanding performances in the First Annual Metcalfe Idol Contest at Summerfest in Edmonton Saturday. First place winner was Tymber Garrett, Youth division 15 and under with her song choice of “My Jesus” by Anne Wilson. Second place winner was Cayce Harris with her song choice, "For long time I traveled."

Blair Center in good use for families in Adair County

Jackie reported feeling proud of the work being done by Fiscal Court this week that allowed the parking lot at the Jim Blair Park and Recreation Center to be filled as folks took advantage of the commodities giveaway.

The Blair Center is located at 901 Hudson Street in Columbia and offers the new playground, the Adair Senior Citizens Center plus sports, walking and event space. For more information call the Judge’s office at 270-384-4703.

Larry writes, "Common milkweed is looking good for the butterflies this year . This patch is in the field down below my garden. It also serves another purpose. For attracting other insects that might be eating my vegetables. I think it's a very pretty plant."
