LCDHD provides emergency resources to school district

Sam Price, LCDHD, with Robbie Harmon, Adair County Schools Health Coordinator, as supplies were dropped off for local schools last week.

The Lake Cumberland District Health Department provided multiple emergency resources to schools across the 10-county District, including CPR manikin sets, Stop the Bleed kits and trainers, First-Aid kits, Trauma and First Responder kits, CPR pocket masks, and AED pads and batteries.

The Outstanding Health Advocate of the year is Jennifer Wright Carter, announced at the 2023 Columbia Adair Chamber of Commerce banquet Tuesday night. Nominees also included Tamara Atwood, Stacey Biggs, Jacob Burton, Patricia Doolin, Emily Hill, Sandra Irvin, Britt Jackson, Matt Jackson, Dr. Sherry Jones, Lake Cumberland District Health Department, Karen Partin and TJ Health Columbia.

Jason Faulkner is the new AC School Superintent

Jason Faulkner, at right, was announced as the new Adair School District Superintendent at the special called meeting Wednesday, June 7, 2023. Board members Troy Grider, Destiny Greer, Dana King, Terry Harvey and Chairman David Karnes agreed it had been a long road through a lot of good applicant interviews but they felt they'd made the best choice and pledged their full support.
