All About Birds says of Brown Thrashers, they "are the only thrasher species east of Texas. Brown Thrashers are exuberant singers, with one of the largest repertoires of any North American songbird."

Robert Reece, Metcalfe County's oldest World War II vet, celebrated his 100th birthday on Friday, June 16, 2023, at the historic courthouse in Edmonton. Bob arrived in a 1923 Model T owned by Jody Curry of Jody Curry Used Cars.

Adair Arts Council growing membership

The Adair County Arts Council continues to grow in membership. At the June meeting Darlene Campbell, at left, learns of a new venture in northern Adair - Horse Woods Haven - from owner, developer Susan Eoff. The Arts Council will hold its July meeting at the farm, 1701 Cooper Ridge Road, Columbia, KY at 6pmCT July 13, 2023. Crystal Bowl Lanes

The sign for Crystal Bowl Lanes is still faintly visible on the side of it's original Reed Street location in downtown Columbia. During the 1960s, the Lanes were host to the Lindsey Wilson Boys Open Bowling League, among others.
