Pie lady was a hit at July Chamber lunch meeting

Walker Realty was the lunch sponsor for the July Chamber of Commerce meeting and Winfrey Bates, center, was the star of the event with her homemade pies (homemade all the way to the crust). Her daughter Amy Walker hosted the luncheon. Amy, Winfrey and Vicki Murray, at right, are realtors together. Amy's husband Dickie Walker did the grilling of hamburgers and hotdogs.

Neagle speaks on LCDHD at July Chamber meeting

Speaker Jeff Neagle brought health information showing Adair County statistics and labeled our priority health issues - chronic disease, obesity, and physical inactivity; substance abuse/drug overdoses; tobacco use/vaping; and teenage pregnancy. The Lake Cumberland District Health Department is working to help residents in the ten counties to make improvements in all these areas.

Experiencing the new playground at Blair Park

While Mom, Tiffany, was on the job at City Hall, young Jagger Collins, age 6, was enjoying all the new playground equipment at the Jim Blair Park and Recreation Center with his Aunt Tasha. The park is located at 901 Hudson Street in Columbia (formerly known as the Christian Life Center.)
