Bat is in Frankfort for Rabies testing

This common brown bat bit our Clifty Creek Farm correspondent and she is now taking a series of Rabies shots. The bat is in Frankfort for testing to see if it has the disease. She shares her experience and says that if anyone gets bit or scratched by a wild animal, get to the Emergency Room as soon as possible and get the vaccines started. Emergency rooms are required to have the vaccine on hand at all times, but not doctor's offices nor clinics.

Beth Cowan is off to college at MSU

ACHS 2023 graduate Beth Cowan has moved into her dorm room at Murray State University where she will begin work on her degree in the agriculture field. Mom and Dad, Gale and Jamie Cowan, are pictured helping her settle into her home away from home.

Zinnias attract swallowtails, 2 of 2

Veronica writes, "My little girl planted zinnias so that she could pick flowers all summer long. They have done that and brought pollinators to the garden. So many butterflies come every day, all day! This swallowtail stayed there and let me take his picture. I was that close, no need to zoom! Guess he is used to us."

CACFD responds to house fire on Buck Watson Road, 2 of 2

Firefighters made entry into the residence and quickly extinguished the fire. A total of 11 firefighters were on scene for approximately 1.5 hours.
