Lindsey Wilson College political science freshman Braxton Davidson from Hazard, Kentucky, and human services junior Mia Weigel from Danville, Kentucky, chose the Adair County Public Library as their area of service for Malvina Farkle Day. All classes were canceled and students were awakened by horns and cheering at 7 in the morning to start the day.

Commissioner of Agriculture Dr. Ryan Quarles, flanked by Kentucky FFA students, honored Kentucky’s farmers and proclaimed Sept.17-23 as Farm Safety and Health Week in Kentucky at a Farmers’ Appreciation and Awards Day on the Capitol Lawn Wednesday.

Farm report: Baby Angus births keeps things hopping

Vicky writes, "Mommas trying to keep up with the 3  now 4 new baby calves. Sixteen more to go." She wrote yesterday that her neighbors at Kwik Lube across the street called to alert her of buzzards circling and helped her save one of the new calves. She may be sleeping on the porch to keep an eye on her girls when birthing.
