New company will locate near present ATS plant

Phillips Tank & Structure has chosen to locate their business in the Green River Commerce Park on North Hwy 55 outside of Columbia. PTS will be constructing multiple buildings on six acres m/l which includes a portion of the Build Ready Pad in Lot 3, highlighted in yellow on the map of the Park. Parakeet at Holmes Bend - needs to get home!

There is a little white parakeet here at Holmes Bend. He has a blue tag on his foot. He is definitely a lost pet.

He won’t survive in the wild. We need to find his owners. We can’t catch him.

Flowers and Theater thoughts around the Public Square

Zinnias may be my favorite of all the flowers that have graced the Public Square in Columbia this season. They are staying colorful and strong as fall gets started. This view takes in the Columbian Theater sign reminding us the planned opening of the restored building - it has been placed on hold by the Adair School District. We hope to hear some positive news soon. - LW

Columbia Police Chief Jr Murphy retiring

Congratulations has been the word this week for CPD Chief Jr Murphy who announced he will be retiring after over two decades of service to law enforcement. He was hired by former Mayor Curtis Hardwick and started work under former CPD Chief Mark Harris. We wish him and his family all the best!
