Fall decorations grace Greensburg Street

Fall scenes like this one on Greensburg Street are decorating many homes and businesses in Columbia and Adair County. The City of Columbia is sponsoring the third annual fall decorating contest. To enter a business or home to be judged call City Hall, 270-384-2501, with the name and address.

Davenport family celebrates Flux Fine Art Studio

Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce welcomed new business member, Flux Fine Art Studio, with a ribbon cutting and owner/artist Cayce Davenport, welcomed everyone with refreshments and tours Friday just off the Square. With her are family, friends and business neighbors. Cayce's son Emmett controlled the big scissors.

FM2 will be closed Downtown Days, then back

Farmers Market on the Square will be closed for the big Downtown Days celebration in Columbia this Friday and Saturday. They will reopen on Saturday morning, October 21, 2023 and the final Market will be the following Saturday, October 28th until next spring. Remember to shop local when you think of gifts for family and friends.

Neighbor on the Green County side of Adair

He represents the western side of Adair County, staying on top of things on the Green County side. Calvin remembers visits with Ed Waggener, enjoying the Clay Ridge store before it closed. We agree it would be nice if it could reopen!

Lion's Mane Mushroom

Larry writes, "While on a walk in the woods the other morning, I found a unique mushroom. It's name is Lions Mane, and yes they are edible. As always, do your own research before they are consumed. Actually this is the first time I have ever found them.I didn't take them, but I read that they are delicious."

Mistaken expectations, giant discovery

Photographer and flower girl Alice Biskey Steele from Campbellsville is usually behind the camera, sharing wonderful pictures of her garden, however, this time she stood among her flowers to show perspective. Alice writes, "Zinnias!! I am 5'5" and they are so much taller. The seed packet called these California giants... I mistakenly expected huge flowers rather than height."
