All About Birds says about White-breasted Nuthatches, "In winter, [they] join foraging flocks led by chickadees or titmice, perhaps partly because it makes food easier to find and partly because more birds can keep an eye out for predators."

OCC 2023: Kessler family

Kasey (Blue) Kessler adds a shoe box gift for each year he gets older. He is 12 years old so he packed 12 boxes. Last year he started adding one year to grow on so he packed 13 boxes this year. He also included beautiful artwork on his boxes so that each child that receives a box will get an added blessing. Pictured with him are his parents, Tiffany and Eddie Kessler.

Creelsboro Festival included blacksmithing, beekeeping, weaving

Kimberly writes, "For the 2023 Creelsboro Festival, we added demonstrations of blacksmithing by Jonathan Eby, weaving by Anne Bird and beekeeping by Gunnar Coe. They gave the attendees an opportunity to engage and ask questions. Each shared their passion with the crowd."

Trading post was busy at 2023 Creelsboro Festival

Harold Burton was Raffle Winner at Creelsboro Festival

Kimberly writes, "As you can see in the picture, there were some happy people. The winner of our raffle drawing was Harold Burton. He thought he would support us when he bought the tickets. Within a few hours, his name was drawn!"

Mr. Burton won a combination of prizes that included: a $495 valued custom processed 300 lb whole hog from Showalters Meats along with a pack of gift certificates and gift cards from local businesses totaling over $300. Esto Country Store & Cafe, Black Stallion, Pepe's Mexican, Reel Java Brew & Bakehouse, Campbell's Creelsboro Country Store, Fiesta Mexican, and the Russell County Farm Store were all sponsors of our event this year and contributed to the raffle prize. Mammy Frog contributed to our give away with ice cream cone certificates.
