Kentucky Color: Vines can damage trees

English ivy and Virginia creeper do attach themselves to the bark of trees, as you can see with this huge Poison ivy vine on the right side of this tree trunk. The green leaves are actually the invasive, English ivy. This attachment can damage yard trees and trees in public spaces.

Planning Columbia's Christmas parade route

Columbia Police Department Chief Charles Greer worked with the Chamber of Commerce to plan the route of the 2023 Christmas parade Saturday, December 2, at 6pmCT. The parade route will again start from Industrial Park, turning right on Jamestown Street going the length through town, around Public Square and end on Burkesville Street near the intersection of East and West Frazier Avenue.

Youth group provides well-stocked blessing boxes

Through the Fire Worship Center's 3-7 year old Sunday School Class asked if they could help some people in need, and then collected food for a few weeks to stock local blessing boxes.
