Birds of Kentucky: Meadowlark maybe

2024-01-10 - Fairplay, KY - Photo by Veronica Arnold.
Veronica writes, "I saw a good flock of these birds descend into my fields. At first I thought gold breasted bunting or a warbler. But now I believe it to be an Eastern Meadow Lark.

While yellow breasted, he has a collar-like stripe of black, and brownish black stripes/specs down his back side. Picture isnt great as taken through a window and zoomed in. Too cold be grabbing these beautiful birds outside."
