Celebrating Leah this week

Leah Critz Ballou is the birthday girl in her family this week. Her husband Kyle posted a collection of favorite photos along with his appreciation of her on his Facebook page. Besides being mom of three girls she is also the Childrens' Minister at Columbia United Methodist Church. They're happy to welcome folks to join them at 10amCT on Sundays.

Kitty on the pond

Veronica writes, "While I won't walk on the ice-covered pond due to dangers of not knowing its thickness... the barn cat timidly walks around the outside edges of the pond stalking birds nesting in the bushes and reeds. She did still slip and slide a little too. Barn kitty is called 'Pretty Shadow'."

Veronica writes, "In winter we have a lot less variation in colors. Perhaps that is why we notice the shades of browns and grey and white more. The golden reeds, the grey skies, the white snow, the brown and black of the bare trees... Beautiful winter scenes!"
