Fiscal Court in session

Thursday's fiscal court meeting is underway. In addition to regular business, items on the agenda include discussion of Business Licenses, hiring of Dispatch personnel, paying of snow removal disbursements, and Occupational Tax complaints. The meeting is open to the public.

I'm not sure if these two were courting or establishing territory, but they didn't seem to have much to do with each other after this brief clash. (These two birds weren't in Kentucky, as evidenced by the blurry palm trees in the background, but local birds clash/court in the same ways.)

Surprise orange iced back porch

Crafty raccoons have visited the back porch before but they never had the ammunition to leave such a surprising mess until I forget the canned drinks when the temperature dropped below freezing. To the animals, it was simply an invitation.

Mayor Pam Hoots wrote that she was honored to recognize Adair County Family Resource and Youth Centers. She issued a proclamation in their honor at the School Board conference room, with Kara Iqbal, Heather Dudley, Hali Anderson, and Pam Bivens.
