Some of the descendants of Harvey Dean Nash gathered to celebrate his 128th birthday on January 28, 2024, by attending worship services at Russell Heights Baptist Church, where Mr. Nash was a member until his death in 1968.

Grant Loy is new Adair 911 Deputy Director/Dispatch
 2024-01-28 - Columbia, KY . Grant Loy was hired full time as the Adair County 911 Deputy Director/Dispatch at the January Fiscal Court meeting. He has been on the Columbia Adair County Fire Department for five years and has been on the Adair County E-911 staff for three years.
Along with Grant, Fiscal Court also approved the hiring of Dustin Posey Full-Time Mapping/Dispatcher; Laura Coffey-Part-Time Dispatch; Jenna George-Part-Time Dispatch and Bailey Mullins-Part-Time Dispatch.

Travel: from Russell Springs to Mexico

Bradley Miller chosen as new General Manager of CAUD
 2024-01-28 - Adair County, KY .
Columbia/Adair Utilities District employee Bradley Miller celebrated 15 years of service to the utilities of Adair County in 2023 and he has a new position.
CAUD announced he has now been hired as the General Manager to follow Lenny Stone who is retiring in June of 2024.
Bradley moves up from his position as the Chief Water Plant Operator for the District to GM.

Birds of Kentucky: Wilson's Snipe
 2024-01-28 - Shelbyville, KY - Photo by Pen. All About Birds says of them, "Wilson's Snipes forage by methodically probing in muddy ground for earthworms and other invertebrates. Their heads move up and down somewhat like a sewing machine running at slow speed. Individuals usually sit tight until suddenly flushing near your feet and flying off in fast zigzags."
