Mayor Pamela Hoots met Dr. Chen at Adair county high school last year when awards were being handed out to graduates. In their discussion it was discovered that Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville is able to provide four electric vehicle (EV) super chargers to the City Of Columbia. Dr. Chen is associate professor of the department of mechanical engineering at Tennessee Tech. Two of the charging stations will go in New Columbia, and two of the chargers will go in the parking lot behind City Hall downtown.
