Adair Co. well-represented at the Chamber Day Dinner
 2024-02-09 - Lexington, KY - Photo courtesy Columbia Adair Economic Development. Members of the Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Commission, and Economic Development Authority traveled to Lexington, KY on Thursday evening to represent Adair County at the 29th Annual Chamber Day Dinner.

Adair County was well represented at this event that hosted over 2,000 people from businesses and other Chambers from across the state of Kentucky. Several speakers shared their vision for Kentucky, including Gov. Andy Beshear. KET will air highlights from the evening on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

Adair Boy's Basketball over Metcalfe County 77-68

The Adair County High School Boy's Basketball team's leading scorer was Dawson Gilbert with 23 points followed by Connor Loy scoring 22. Brayton Coomer had 7 rebounds followed by Isaiah Cochran who grabbed 6. The team shot very impressively making 58% of field goals, 53% of threes, and on 92% of free throws. - TS

EV super chargers coming to Columbia
 2024-02-08 - Cookville, TN - Photo from Mayor Pam Hoots. Craig Lasley, at left, and Terry Moore, at right, are pictured with Dr. Pingen Chen. Mayor Pamela Hoots met Dr. Chen at Adair county high school last year when awards were being handed out to graduates. In their discussion it was discovered that Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville is able to provide four electric vehicle (EV) super chargers to the City Of Columbia. Dr. Chen is associate professor of the department of mechanical engineering at Tennessee Tech. Two of the charging stations will go in New Columbia, and two of the chargers will go in the parking lot behind City Hall downtown.

MCHS Hornets defeat ACHS Lady Indians

Adair County High School Lady Indians were defeated by the Hornets of Metcalfe County High 69-40 Wednesday night. The team fought very hard but were unable to pull out a victory in the end. They will be back in action Friday night as they host Marion County in a 20th district matchup. - TS
