Local artists take part in 2024 Cultural Arts Competition

There were over 84 entries from 24 competitors, and winners will advance to the area competition to be held on March 6, 2024, in Cumberland County.

Seniors honored between boy's/girl's games

Adair County High School basketball seniors were given special recognition at the boys/girls double header Tuesday night. Lady Indians seniors: Ellie Cheatham, Sarai Collins, Lily Loy, and Hannah West. Senior Boy's Basketball members: Mathew Brady, Camden Burton and Jakob Lacy. Cheer team members: Peyton Walkup, Amber Said, Mariah Grant, Caylin Coffman , Brody Blair and Braden Bault.

Winning night for ACHS basketball teams

Adair County High School basketball games on Tuesday night were winning ones with special recognition times between boys and girls games. In this picture, Blaine Bardin has the ball in the game against Caverna boys. Chloe Vance was honored with an "orange out" at these games - with roses, good health wishes and everyone around her wearing orange in support of her. It was a special night for all.

Black History Month proclaimed in City of Columbia
 2024-02-20 - Columbia, KY - Photo from City Hall. Black History Month has been proclaimed in Columbia by proclamation of Columbia Mayor Pamela Hoots. The proclamation says, in part, "Whereas, Black History Month recognizes the achievements made annually by African Americans and a time for recognizing their role in history."
The proclamation was done in conjunction with the second Annual Black History Month 5K and 1 mile walk being sponsored by The Weathers Foundation in Danville, Kentucky. Proceeds from that event will benefit the Agape House PSC, a non-profit Pregnancy Resource Center, located in Columbia. Pictured are: Sharon Payne, Joanne Payne, Shelia Payne, Mayor Hoots and Phyllis Payne.
