Travel: Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge

2024-02-27 - Near Seymour, IN - Photo by Pen.
Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge includes 7,724 acres set aside for feeding and resting areas for migratory birds. It is located just off I-65 about an hour north of Louisville, in the greater North Vernon metropolitan area. The refuge is a flat to gently rolling mix of bottomland and upland forest, wetland, brushland and grassland habitat, and the country roads that pass through it seem unusually long and straight to observers used to Southern Kentucky's winding roads.
