The sky was full of heavy rain clouds over the community of Black Gnat, KY on the Taylor/Green County line Wednesday afternoon. The rain will help keep Jill Petrey's daffodils growing.

A family tradition at the fire department

Brandon White has served in the Columbia Adair County Volunteer Fire Department for several years. Tia said their children, Callee, at left, and twins Caylyn and Emalyn, continue a family tradition started in 2016 of dressing in Dad's gear for a picture each year.

Cooking breakfast to help raise funds

Making the meals in the ACVFD fire department kitchen were chefs Jeff and Billy Hadley and Roger Cundiff. They cooked pancakes and sausage for all of their company in the annual Crusade For Children fundraiser. William Grider said all you had to do to know who did all the cooking was to look at their aprons.
