Magisterial districts under discussion at Fiscal Court
 2025-04-23 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Vicky Pike of Miss Vicky's Pampered Angus Ranch. As the Adair County Fiscal Court April meeting was about to get started all officials were present on the right side of the Judge, but two seats were empty to the left. Magistrate Baker joined a few minutes later, making three (of four) on the left. Governor Beshear has not yet appointed someone to fill the vacant position. In the agenda action items, there was discussion that a study is being done to possibly redistrict the county from seven to five Magisterial districts.

The budget is getting tight as the end of the fiscal year is coming close. The Judge brought a motion to move the half percent Occupational Tax to the full one percent like all the counties around us but it failed with votes from Reeder, Denton, Humphress and Coffey saying no.
