Not a drop of Bourbon was served
2024-05-19 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Not a drop of alcohol was served, nor enjoyed, at the Trabue Russell House luncheon last week - it just looked that way because the bottles contained sweet tea. They were great conversation pieces, as evidenced by the smiles on Bridget Compton and Vicky Pike in this picture. The Bourbon bottles on the tables were part of the service designed by hostess Mary Anne Loy who said, "come to the Trabue Russell House now, the roses are blooming!"

Travel: Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park
2024-05-19 - Utah-Arizona State Line - Photo by Robert Ellis, Robert Ellis Woodworking. Robert writes, "This Park has a nominal entrance fee, with a 17 mile loop road you can either drive, or pay for a guided tour. We decided on driving ourselves since we had an AWD vehicle. The road is mostly dirt with sparse gravel at times...and it is rough! However, the scenery and views are epic, and worth enduring the 'not so pleasant' roads."
From the website:Welcome to the Navajo Nation's Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. You are experiencing one of the most majestic - and most photographed - points on earth. This great valley boasts sandstone masterpieces that tower at heights of 400 to 1,000 feet, framed by scenic clouds casting shadows that graciously roam the desert floor. The angle of the sun accents these graceful formations, providing scenery that is simply spellbinding.

Field of Poppies by the Sea
2024-05-19 - Romania - Photo by Veronica Arnold. Work has taken the Arnolds far afield from Fairplay, KY, recently.
Veronica writes, "Greetings from the Black Sea in Romania. Wild poppies are in bloom on this coast. As we draw near to Memorial Day, seeing these wild poppies remind me of support for all armed forces. We stop to smell the flowers."
