Afternoon sun put a spotlight on the former Lerman's building on the corner of Jamestown Street and the Columbia Public Square. The big windows that had been covered for a long time now have art that warms up the location and gives a hint of what "Old Columbia" was, and will be again as development continues.

Blood Drive getting underway in Columbia

T.J. Health Columbia in conjunction with the American Red Cross is hosting a community blood drive from NoonCT to 5pmCT today, Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Staff was setting up and had eight appointments at noon. The location with plenty of parking is 201 Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY, back lower level.

Black bear sightings reported around Columbia

Black bear sightings are being reported from East 80 and from Parkview estates in Columbia. Personally, in addition to being careful, I hope one comes on downtown and gobbles up some of the groundhogs that prowl Town Creek yards. - LW
