Marco Sioli at the Trabue-Russell House
2024-05-30 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Barry Loy. On Tuesday and Wednesday, May 28 and 29, 2024, Marco Sioli, a professor of American history at the University of Milan in Italy, returned to Columbia for the first time since a 1999 trip, when he spoke at Lindsey Wilson College and paid a visit to the Trabue-Anderson Cemetery.
While he was in town this week, Sioli presented a program on Daniel Trabue at the Adair County Genealogy and History Center, and then a program on John Muir at the Trabue-Russell House, above. His topic for Wednesday was "From Transcendentalism to Environmentalism: John Muir in Kentucky".

Travel: Singing Slot Canyon
2024-05-29 - Burr Trail Scenic Backway, Utah - Photo by Robert Ellis, Robert Ellis Woodworking. Robert writes, "Singing Slot Canyon...a very short, and hard to find slot canyon, unless you're specifically looking for it. Fortunately, through research before the trip, we knew it should be around the 11 mile point after turning onto the Burr Trail from the main highway. It's a beautiful little gem along this trail."
