Jyn Yates gives women drummers book to ACPL
 2024-06-13 - Columbia, KY - Photo courtesy Adair Co. Public Library. Jyn Yates, center, Adair County native and accomplished drummer, made a presentation to the Adair County Library - a book about women drummers from prehistoric times until the present. The book follows Viola Smith, who died at age 109, and created the first all female orchestra during World War II. She presented the book in memory of her grandmother, Dimple Yates. Jyn has traveled extensively with her drumming career and is available to do lessons for local students.

The event was sponsored by the Uganda Counseling and Support Services, a non-profit ministry from Kentucky operating in Uganda.
