Annual Goldfish Challenge
2024-06-04 - Cane Valley, KY - Photo by Robert Ellis, Robert Ellis Woodworking. Robert writes, "This has turned into a self-imposed challenge for me every year. I have four of these Goldfish in this water stock tank. They have been in there for many years, and one of the yearly photos was featured in Kentucky Living Photo Contest Calendar, June 2023. Every year I attempt to get a better photo than the previous year.
My hands were tied for this year's challenge, because I sold my good camera system, and now all my images are taken with a cell phone. What was I thinking?
Happily, more water Lillies were in bloom, and I stayed with it long enough to finally get everything composed the way I like it...even if it is just a cell phone pic!"

Congratulations going out to Collin White!
2024-06-04 - Taylor County, KY - Photo from Bill Collins. Since Campbellsville singer Collin White was two years old, he would strum a little guitar and sing and say, "one day, I'm going to sing on that Opry Stage," according to his gradfather. He has just reached that goal. He has now recorded and released two singles. The first, "Still Standing," was released in September 2022 and opened at #18 on the iTunes Christian Charts. It is the highest-charting Christian Country song in the history of Christian Country music. His second single, "Kindness and Respect, "was released May 31, 2024.

Sunset over Cane Valley
2024-06-03 - Adair Co., KY - Photo by Robert Ellis, Robert Ellis Woodworking. Robert wrote of this scene, "I think this time I’ll just keep mostly quiet and let the picture do the talking."
We are always happy when Robert turns his lens to the special scenes he sees in rural Kentucky, but fellow photographer (and sometimes CM contributor) William Lamkin had the perfect words for this photo when he wrote to Robert, "Wonderful photo. It's kind of a picture of your life's work. Woodworker, tending grapes, and then the photo itself displays your love of photography. It shows the places where you have most likely had many conversations with God, and it shows his beauty displayed for you. This photo really speaks to me more than any you have ever taken because it tells a story of you."
