Going up on Main Street in Russell Springs

A huge building is going up on Main Street across from the Police Department in Russell Springs this summer. Rumor has it the owner is Terry Stephens of Stephens Pipe and Steele and it may house a car collection.

In attendance at Fiscal Court meeting

Early crowd for the Tuesday, June 25, 2024 Adair Fiscal Court meeting grew as the nearly three-and-a-half-hour meeting went on. All magistrates were present. Attorney Angie Capps sat in for County Attorney Jennifer Hutchison-Corbin. A key decision was made in the meeting for the Board of Elections that will help recruit poll workers for the November election. The pay for working the polls was increased from $150 to $200 for Election Day and $50 for training stays the same.

Adair County Fiscal Court June 2024 meeting

Adair County Fiscal Court had one of its longest meetings Tuesday, June 25, 2024. The agenda was long in regular business for the monthly meeting. In addition a group came to talk about rental prices for businesses at the Jim Blair Center which needed extra discussion time between magistrates and parents of children in Damon Hicks' program.

Tourism invests in Little League and Expo

Adair County Tourism Convention and Commission made two donations that supports events that will draw people to the county. This check represents $500 donated to the Adair County Little League. Craig Feese, at right, received the donation from Amy Mitchum, Tourism Chair, and Paige Nickel, Tourism Executive Director. Another donation was made and Chris Burton stopped by the office for a donation to the big August Outdoor Expo coming in August.
