Trenton Page speaks at June Dairy Day

Trenton Page is being given major recognition for his accomplishment of being the first Future Farmers of America (FFA) State President from Adair County in history. He spoke at the Friday June Dairy Day celebration held for the purpose of honoring dairy farming.

LWC Receives $10,000 Gift from First & Farmers

Lindsey Wilson College President William T. Luckey Jr., center, receives a $10,000 unrestricted gift from Columbia Market President of First & Farmers National Bank Brad Hodges, left, and FFNB Vice President/Loan Officer Donna Stotts, right, on June 21. The gift will go to the Lindsey Wilson Fund, providing financial aid to students and helping sustain important daily needs at the college.

Grey tree frog

Veronica writes, "This guy is a grey tree frog, but yes, they can tweak their appearance to appear more green when needed. The camouflage abilities of the tree frog are great... they just dont work on my outdoor hose spigot."

Business news shared over lunch

Josh Bruce enjoyed opening day at the new BYO restaurant in Columbia this week along with Mayor Pam Hoots and Columbia Magazine and many other guests. Josh is part of the TJ Health Columbia family and shared that in addition to the newly expanded rehabilitation center, the whole building will be getting a new coat of paint this week. The medical community in Columbia has a new address, located on Wellness Way (formerly called Westlake Drive). Wellness Way in Columbia is home to EMS, TJ Health Columbia Hospital, the doctor's clinic, and the Adair County Health Department.

Dairy farms and FFA celebrated in Columbia Friday

Celebrating June Dairy Day in Columbia and Adair County were representatives of the City, FFA, and sponsors. Mayor Pam Hoots and new state president of the Future Farmers of America, Trenton Page, are seated at left. The City recognized Trenton for his major accomplishment, being the first FFA State President in Adair County history.
