Trilby Vance at the big Sonny's Woodcrafts
2014-10-10 - Corner Public Square & Jamestown Street, Downtown Columbia KY - Photo by Ed Waggener. Trilby Vance peeked out from the Sonny's Woodcrafts display tents, where she was preparing displays for tomorrow's downtown days. The drizzle Friday evening was tougher on crafts shops attendance than for the food vendors, it seemed, but Sonny's and other vendors think tomorrow will be a great day. Sonny's Woodcrafts always has an interesting line, including old time wooden trucks and other wooden toys. The delightful shop will be open today, 11 Oct 2104.

Downtown Days 2014: Lights of a Midway, Food Court
2014-10-10 - 100 Block Burkesville Street, Columbia, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener. Like a midway The sight, the lights, the aroma of BBQ, steaks and funnel cakes in the making lent the air of a street fair tonight, as a good crowd showed up in spite of a drizzle - for the food. Many just stood and ate while talking - many more showed just to talk while picking up big carryouts for families at home.

ACMS: Invented Instruments
2014-10-10 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Shamarie Claiborne. Shamarie writes, "Mr. Martin's students in Adair County Middle School's eighth grade music class have been inventing and then creating instruments as part of their classroom work. Shown here displaying two of their creations are Sydney Kimbler, with her fully functioning guitar, and Joseph Fuller, whose drum was made from a cut log and sticks. Mr. Martin wanted to mention a few other students with exceptional invented instruments, including Baylor Giles, Jaylen Holmes, Christian Wright, and Sydney Slaven. We hope Mr. Martin keeps inspiring and helping to instill a love for music in our students' hearts."
