Marcum sisters win 1st & 2nd places in Hart Co. basket contest

Hart County recently had their annual "Basket Contest". The contest had 12 different categories based on materials used and style. Three of the categories were for children. Elizabeth (left) and Alayna Marcum (right) received 1st and 2nd place in their division. Their grandmother, Janet Marcum, is a basketmaker and has taught them the skill.

Hosting our European Awards Dinner in Camp Nou, one of the world's greatest soccer stadiums in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It has been the home of Futbol Club Barcelona since 1957, with a seating capacity of over 99,000. It's an incredible venue. But if I want to see outstanding soccer, all I have to do is walk from Lowe's Lane over to the soccer field at LWC . . . one of the great college programs in the US. - Doug Beard
