Walking Columbia - Misuse of Downtown store's dumpster
2015-09-13 - S Reed Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener . Walking Downtown Columbia - a bit of a rant. One can't help but wish that the misuse of our neighborhood store's dumpster could be stopped. The rust on the side is from a fire, likely started by a careless smoker or a vandal. It isn't unusual to see cars drive up and unload household trash in the bin - sometimes even leaving furniture - I think I've seen a sofa there, maybe not. There's rarely a time those who misuse the dumpster fail to litter around the area. Glass is seen nearly any time - a walking hazard as well as one for bicycle, scooter, and other vehicle times.. Wind patterns blow the debris into nearby property which is otherwise some of the most meticulously maintained in the city. Can anything be done? What should be done? - EW

Big Al in the Big Easy: On board trolley, window open
2015-09-13 - New Orleans, LA - Photo by Innocent Bystander. Big Al's I'm about-to-have-a-crawfish-platter at Saints & Sinners grin, captured by an Inocent Bystander as he rode, windowlight open on the way to Bourbon Street on his recent visit there. He's already enrolled in the plan to permit legal sales of alcoholic beverages in Columbia. He may come home with a plan for trolley lines in Columbia. For sure, he says, somebody in Columbia ought to be able to serve crawfish platters, even if they have to be imported from Arkansas.
