Ready for Antiques Road Show? Pay telephone box at Park
2016-04-09 - Columbia Park at Adair Co., KY Fairground, 413 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, CM photo. Are there any of these left in operation anymore? Does anyone remember how long ago this one was operational. Time was Telephone Booths or Boxes were almost everywhere, with booths on at the corner of Greensburg & the Public Square and at Leo's motel across from the Circle R on Russell Road provided access to the outside world and shelter from the weather. More than cellphones have caused their demise. And, so far as we can find out online, efforts to convert them to other purposes, such as wi-fi and recharging stations, haven't worked, either. Photo 5 Apr 2016. - CM
