Epicurean Kentuckian: Breakfast at Breeding

2016-04-20 - Country Mart, 14332 Burkesville Road Breeding, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Junior Stotts, of Picnic and Columbia, KY, reported that the store in Breeding is serving up some mighty tasty breakfasts. Checked it out on a mission to Cumberland County - aborted after a long stay at the store, which has become the news center of the town. Breeding Chief Terry Harvey updated us on the 30 ft. training tower soon to be built at the Breeding Fire Department Training Center - and told us that Jamie Comer has committed to this year's stump speaking at the spring Fish Fry. And Freddy Gibson gave the Country Mart just about the highest rating anyone could give a restaurant, "I eat here three times a day," he said. On the plate above, just as ordered: One biscuit smothered with gravy topped with Easy Overs, smothered again with homemade gravy, with tomato and bacon. Rather filling. - EW
