ACMS Art, Take a Walk in my shoes - Triniti Carta, a cute cat

2016-05-11 - ACMS 526 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo by Shamarie Harper, Adair County School District Media Coordinator.
Triniti Carta turned her "found object" into a very cute cat. I am thinking maybe a veterinarian someday? That is what the purpose of High Order Thinking lessons such as Mrs. Campbell's, the Art teacher at Adair County Middle School, is all about. Teaching students to make connections and think outside the box to develop into thinking processing young adults.Shamarie Harper - Media Coordinator for the Adair County School District, 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.

ACMs Art, Take a Walk in my shoes - Zack Bullock's boot

2016-05-11 - ACMS 322 Gen John Adair Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo by Shamarie Harper, Adair County School District Media Coordinator.
I truly think Zack Bullock's boot symbolizing the theme of his life, is one of my favorites! Mrs. Katie Campbell's unit titled "Take a Walk in My Shoes" as you can see was a huge success and the Adair County Schools have many talented students.Shamarie Harper - Media Coordinator for the Adair County School District, 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY.

ACMS Art, Take a Walk in my shoes - Michael Harmon

2016-05-11 - ACMS, 322 Gen. John Adair Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo by Shamarie Harper, Adair County School District Media Coordinator.
Shoe1 There is no question what Michael Harmon's theme is or what he enjoys. He did a fabulous job transforming his "found" object into a symbolic symbol in Mrs. Katie Campbell's Art Class at Adair County Middle School. Epicurean Kentuckian: Now that's a club!

2016-05-11 - Circle R Restaurant, 712 Russell Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Pen.
Only Good Eaters should attempt this massive Turkey Club sandwich in one sitting - photo is of just one half the whole huge sandwich served at the Circle R. But it's not the heft, it's the taste which makes it great. Or so those of the multitude which sampled it thought. - EW

Ellen Zornes at C/AC Chamber luncheon 10 May 2016

2016-05-11 - Andersons Pizzeria, 1411 Campbellsville Road, Columbia, KY - Photo By Ed Waggener .
Columbia/Adair County Chamber President Ellen Zornes conducted a brief Chamber business segment at the May 10, 2016 luncheon. Zornes stressed Chamber membership renewal, now underway, and reminded the gathering of the Columbia/Adair County Chamber of Commerce's upcoming Golf Tournament, to be held at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson, Thursday, May 19, 2016, starting at 1pmCT. The event was sponsored by T.J. Health Columbia, at which TJHC CEO Bud Wethington gave an analysis of the bright future and opportunities, sobered by the challenges the local hospital still faces. He said, and Westlake CEO Neal Gold concurred, that T.J. has invested heavily, already, in the community, that now, the only limiting factor is reciprocal support from the community.

Wildflowers of KY: Pretty red flower needs ID

2016-05-11 - Little Cake, Adair County, KY - Photo by Larry Clark.
Larry sends this photo of "a wild flower, I discovered down the shady lane from my house." The usual 15 minute online search failed to turn up the name of the flower - so could an expert let us know? And maybe tell some shortcuts and hints for Google to get the service to tell us what we need to suggest from the photo to get a reliable answer? - CM

Note: we previously misattributed this photo, and appreciate the kind way our error was brougth to our attention.
