Red Lick United Methodist Church making positive changes

When the Red Lick United Methodist Church prepared boxes for the Adair County Operation Christmas Child Drop Off - Metcalfe County doesn't yet have an OCC Drop Off and the church is near the Adair County line - photographer Chris Lagerman made copies of the group photo above and put this photo of the congregation in each OCC box they packed. Firkins girls bring in OCC Boxes

Gwendolynn Firkins and Angelina Firkins made the final drop off of the day on Saturday, November 19, 2016. They said that their favorite items in the box were a pop up book and a stuffed animal. They were looking forward to making a child happier as a result of their box. - Mark Fudge

Providence Baptist adds another dozen boxes to Adair OCC total

Hot Tanz OCC boxes bring total to 2900!

Beth Helm dropped off boxes from Hot Tanz. These boxes puts the new Adair County Operation Christmas Child Drop Off center total at over 2900 boxes - just 600 shy of 3,500 goal. - Mark Fudge

Downtown Columbia, KY: Maple tree removal II

The largest of the courthouse trees, the maple facing Jamestown Street, was removed Thursday evening, November 17, 2016 by Mike and brother Chris Wall of Barns & More (the "More" is tree work, which is very busy this time of the year), and his uncle Gary Melson, who is in the bucket. On the ground is Chris' and Mike's father, Donnie Wall. The tree was completely removed Thursday night and the limbs were hauled away.
