Master pottery artist David Waltz, Gradyville, Adair County, KY shared his skills with young artists to be at Saturday's Spring Festival at Homeplace on Green River. Waltz, who taught his art in Maryland for many years, volunteers his talents frequently at Homeplace events. Here he's working with Columbia's Ty Coleman, son of Mark and Maggie Coleman. Waltz was one of a number volunteers who turned out despite the wet weather to demonstrate and share their skills with the many folks who also braved the weather to attend the festival. - GEORGE KOLBENSCHLAG

Downtown Columbia, KY - Dramatic nighttime reminder of Easter

Even more dramatic throughout the nights. This past week visitors to Down Town Columbia noticed a change on the central cross atop the Red Brick Recording Studio - the black shroud symbolizing the crucifixion had been replaced with a crown and a robe, representing the Risen Savior.Paired photo

Turnout at HGR Plow Day Spring Festival at 800-900!

We are pleased with the turnout. Probably 8 or 9 hundred so far. A good number of families with children. And lots of room for more. - George Kolbenschlag
Plow Day and Spring Festival is today, Sat 22 Apr 2017, 8amCT/9amET and ends at 4pmCT/5pmET. More than 50 exhibits, demonstrations, live music performers, artists and crafters animals and food vendors are scheduled showcase early Kentucky agriculture. $10 per car parking includes all of the activities at the festival. Homeplace is located at 5807 New Columbia Road (state highway 55) between Columbia and Campbellsville. - GEORGE KOLBENSCHLAG
