Adair School board gets overview of concession stands plans

Mike Sparkman, Alt/32 architect, present illustrations on proposed concession stands/public restrooms for girls softball and boys baseball fields, at the Adair County School Boards monthly school board session, held, significantly in the first structure, now 63 years old, erected on the school campus. Watching and seen in the photo from left, are Board member Mike Harris (Div 5), Board Attorney Coleman Hurt, Student School Board member Lauren McQuaide, and Board Member Terry Harvey (5). No action was taken on the concepts, but Sparkman said that the construction could be a relatively low cost, and would likely meet with little red tape at the state level because Adair County has taken care of so many other high priority academic and classroom facilities already. He told the board that because the state no longer requires prevailing wages on such projects, school districts are seeing bids averaging as much as 10-15% less than had been the case. - EW

Adair County School Campus new gateway to learning

The Adair County School Board and most in the audience at the Thu 18 May 2017 Adair County School Board meeting walked from the Adair County Middle School to a landmark moment in the transformation of the Adair County School Campus, the official unveiling of the "A" logo on the new campus gate the Indian Drive entrance to the meticulously loved, campus, whose maintenance sets a lofty standard for other campuses - public or private, at all learning levels, all over Kentucky. The gate was constructed by students Parker Staton, Bryce Judd, Abby Gunter, Jaycob Lee, Bradley Maslen, Xavier Mathis, Gabe Cowan, and Samuel Willis, supervised by Instructor Barney Taylor, and coordinated with Adair County Schools Director of Maintenance David Jones, who used the occasion as the focus of his monthly Buildings & Grounds Report to the Board of Education. - EW.
