Lunching at Betty's OK Country Cooking has the added bonus of looking out on her huge collection of lilies, where all colors of 'Lilium' have been blooming in her roadside garden. These pinks were my favorite of the day last week, looking out toward Trinity United Methodist Church. It seems like there's a new color every year. - LW

Aspiring CHS Football Eagles attend clinic

Campbellsville middle and high school football teams hosted Eagle Football Camp on May 30 through June 1, 2017, with about 40 students participating.>
Former NFL player Tony Driver worked with camp participants, in addition to CHS head football coach Dale Estes.Students attending the camp include: First- and second-grade division - Owen Smith, Micah Goodwin, Griff Thomas and Tyce Owens. Third- and fourth-grade division - Chance Owens, Kadin Coppage, Rajon Taylor, John Gholston, Lucas Gribbins, Maddox Hawkins, Cameron Estes, Austin Sloan, Jaron Johnson and Christian Hart. Fifth- and sixth-grade division - Tashaun Hart, Logan England, Kaleb Miller and Ryan Grubbs. Seventh- and eighth-grade division - Tuff Harper, Damon Johnson, Logan Raikes, Logan Phillips, Jadan Furman, Deondre Weathers, Keondre Weathers, Konner Forbis and Devin Kinser.

Road work needed on Hwy. 61 in New Columbia?

Billy Joe Fudge says he's seen several near accidents as motorist attempt to turn left into Patricia Trail from KY 61 onto Patricia Trail (white car). The problem is far worse at night, worse still on rainy nights. Cars turning in or coming out from the hotel/Goodwill/Walmart section have no help from turn lane markings nor signs for guidance. It is also very dark with no caution light and no street lights, especially in the rain, and it's just hard to know how to come and go there.
