Bobby Ferguson shares this favorite old photo of David Akeman, who went on to star as "Stringbean" on the Grand Ol' Opry in a guest appearance with the Bar-X Boys - Gordon Kelsay, Casey Jones, Columbia jeweler and a National Fiddle Champion, Hollis Keltner, later Mayor of Columiba, and Clyde Royse. There's a fascinating bio at David "Stringbean" Akeman, which gives details of his life, his success as a baseball player and singer/comic, and his murder, discovered by neighbor, Grandpa Jones.
