The "Doggie Dash", Adair County Elementary School's project, was held on October 21, 2017 and presented at regional competition. ACPC STLP students produce bus video

At Adair County Primary Center, the motto is "ACPC where little kids do big things" and a team of second grade students certainly proved that with their project, "Bus Safety for Everyone". The students created a bus safety video that is available for the school district's use. Heavenly Hollow Real Estate's entry in the 2017 Christmas Card Village for Christmas in Columbia was one of the first five or so to go up this year. Yesterday, 30 Nov 2017, the postcard were popping up like mushrooms around downtown. This one has a photo op for anyone who would like to be the face of Joseph. - EW

Spreading Christmas cheer through decorations

Bank of Columbia staff members Teresa Rowe, left, teller, and Linda Bennett, at right, bookkeeper, hang a new wreath on the front door of the main bank on the square. Teresa said that Linda is the creator of all the decorations, and she also made the Christmas Card on the corner. A mystery gift was left at the back of the bank's Christmas Card, when closely examined it was a gift for anyone who passed by needing a warm scarf. In addition to the scarves, the clear plastic bag contained a note that said, "if you need one, take one." All around the square preparations are being made for the annual Christmas in Columbia celebration tomorrow, Dec. 2, 2017. It starts with the Rotary breakfast at the Columbia Baptist Church, goes into the historic courthouse for booths and foods, then to Santa's arrival at LWC and finally back downtown for the parade and lighting of the Christmas tree.
