KSP seeks help locating stolen motorcycle and trailer


2017-12-06 - Murray, KY - Photo from Senior Trooper Jody Cash, KSP, Mayfield, KY.
On December 4, 2017, Kentucky State Police began an investigation into the theft of a custom motorcycle and trailer which were taken from a residence on Almo-Shiloh Road in Calloway County. The custom built motorcycle is black, has three wheels, and has custom luggage bags. At the time of the theft, the motorcycle had Kentucky registration of "CP504." The trailer is black-plated and enclosed. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Mike Ray. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police Post 1 at 270-856-3721 or anonymously at 1-800-222-5555. December 1944 found the Allied forces locked in mortal combat with an enemy seeking world dominion; many, many items at home - everything from shoes to sugar - strictly rationed; and people putting every cent possible toward the current War Bond drive. Still, the Paull Drug Company on the square offered a nice selection of gift items for the modest budget in that long ago December 6th edition of the News. - JIM

Columbia City Attorney spot will have new face next month

Outgoing Columbia City Attorney Marshall Loy, fourth from right, offered his thanks to everyone he'd worked with over the 20+ years he has held the job. He said it had been a pleasure working with each administration. Council Member Craig Dean offered to just move over one chair and do the job but was advised by Mayor Hardwick that he'd have to get his law degree. The Council gave unanimous approval to the Mayor's choice of Dustin Warren for the position.
