AMTECK rep speaks at AYDC about company apprenticeships

Mr. Pete Brown, right, above, with AMTECK in Lexington, Kentucky came to Adair Youth Development Center to speak to the residents about the opportunities available through the apprenticeship program and with the AMTECK company. Mr. Brown was very sincere in his talk to the students, as he discussed his past and how he has changed the path he was taking with the help of AMTECK and the apprenticeship program. AMTECK is a company that has a school in place for people to get their electrical license. This is part of a series of having industry come to the facility to talk to the students about their future in the workforce. At left is Ricky Collins, vocational instructor at AYDC. Dust flying as crew works to finish sidewalks

The dust was flying this afternoon as crews worked to finish the sidewalks on the corner of Reed/Merchant and Campbellsville Streets in Columbia. What was referred to as a "mess" of plastic orange fences just over a week ago is now cleaned up, looking straight and professional.

Vehicles being prepared to tow from injury accident

First helicopter arrives at TJ Health/Columbia

The first of two helicopters requested for victims of a three-vehicle collision in front of Dr. Rogers' office on Russell Road arrived just before 2pmCT, Thursday, December 14, 2017. Details remain sketchy on the collisions. Columbia Police, Fire Department, Adair EMS and Fire Department Units, tow services and other first responders are on the scene. - LW

Russell Road/KY 80 closed due to injury acccident

An accident in front of Dr. Ronald Rogers Chiropractic Clinic, just east of Grant Chiropractic, corner of Hughes Street, on Russell Road has necessitated the closure of Russell Road/KY 80 E as emergency vehicles work to take care of occupants on vehicle(s) involved. Details are sketchy at this time. Traffic from the east is being re-routed via Westlake Drive back to Russell Road via Wright Drive. Columbia Police, Adair EMS, and Columbia Police are on the scene. Preparation for medical helicopter(s) are being made at TJ Health/Columbia, KY, is underway. Towing units are on the way. UPDATE: Three vehicles involved. - LW
