Scenic Adair Co., KY: Above Catfish/Kayak Bend - Russell Creek
2017-12-27 - Russell Creek, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. An inviting Picnic Beach is already built for kayakers on the far side of this overlook. Development of the Columbia's Paddle Trail has been underway for some time now. The view is from property owned by the Columbia/Adair County Utilities District and now somewhat orphaned as the utility is finding its function as storage area compromised by logistics and security challenges. Many in the community are hoping that the new year will see some intergovernmental progress to allow repurposing of this area for the Paddle Trail and/or a creekside park. - CM
